Current Projects with RSA Involvement with Design and/or Traffic Management Auditing.


Airport Link

BrisConnections is delivering the $4.8 billion Airport Link, Northern Busway (Windsor to Kedron) and Airport Roundabout Upgrade projects - Australia's largest road infrastructure project to improve the link for motorists and public transport users between the city and airport. Construction of the combined road and busway solution has now commenced, with all three roads scheduled for completion by mid 2012. RSA is the lead audit for traffic management and temporary road design.

Springvale Road/Rail Separation

This is a $140 million dollar project to grade separate the Springvale Road rail crossing. The rail lines will be sunk underground and grade separate one of the busiest intersections in Australia. This project will be complete by early 2010. RSA is conducting the traffic management audits.

Sugarloaf Pipeline Project

This project involves constructing a 70 km pipeline linking the Goulburn River near Yea to the Sugarloaf Reservoir in Melbourne's north-east at a cost of $750 million. Significant traffic management is required on the Melba Highway. RSA is RSA is conducting the traffic management audits.

Gateway Upgrade Project

The $1.88 billion Gateway Upgrade Project totals 20km and includes a second Gateway Bridge. There is a series of progressive openings, with final completion in 2011. RSA has been involved with traffic management auditing, as well as temporary road design auditing.

Monash-CityLink-West Gate Upgrade

The Monash-CityLink-West Gate upgrade is a $1 billion project that will improve traffic flow and safety on one of the state’s busiest routes. Works will include widening sections of the road between Williamstown and Dandenong, improving entry/exit points and introducing a new intelligent freeway management system from Werribee to Narre Warren that will revolutionise how traffic flows.

Accessible Tram Stop Program

It is important that all Victorians can access public transport including people with disabilities, the elderly and frail and parents with prams. Almost 20 per cent of Victorians have a disability and ageing patterns show that this figure is expected to increase in the years ahead. The Accessible Tram Stop Program will involve the construction of about 350 new platform stops in Melbourne as part of a $250 million, 10-year investment in improving public transport accessibility. Features at tram stops include; access paths, ramps, Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSIs), waiting areas and stairs, lighting and furniture. More than 100 wheelchair-accessible tram stops are now open.
